Red in process
London, 2011
HD video, 25min
Red in process results from a seminar run by the artist Emily Wardill over a short period of two weeks. A group of art students from Central Saint Martins took the role of cast and crew, set up a space for collaboration and improvisation and developed a movie, which became a study on melodrama as social practise. The video reflects the actual process of filming it. Not taking care of the effect of realism, the creators used its signs in order create elements of fiction and documentation. A fragment of reality emerges unexpectedly.

‘Picnic’ is a collaborative project by Evelina Simkute, Ella Horton Chandler and Ipek Hamzaoglu. It is one of the series of works produced within the soon to be demolished Heygate Estate in Elephant and Castle, London. The work challenges our perceptions of the relationship between the urban environment and its citizens.
Work presented is a 20 min. projected video documenting the performance, which happened at the Elephant Road Park, 23 May 2010.
